The Institute of Psychology of the Faculty of Human Sciences is looking to employ a
Research Assistant (PostDoc) (m/f/d)
(Salary group 13 TV-L, 100%)
within the Unit of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in Childhood and Adolescence for a fixed-term position of 5 years.
The Unit of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy in Childhood and Adolescence pursues a translational approach that aims at the integration of experimentally gained basic knowledge and findings from process-oriented psychotherapy research, taking into account development-dependent aspects. The research focuses on (1) associative learning processes, (2) processing of emotional stimuli (3) and potential predictors of success of psychotherapy in children and adolescents with and without mental disorders (particularly, pathological fears). For this purpose, two psychophysiological laboratories (including EEG, eye tracking, peripheral physiology) are currently being set up. Furthermore, patients can be recruited from our outpatient clinic for psychotherapy research.
Responsibilities:
• Participation in the research (proposals, articles, etc.) of the department
• Participation in the development of the laboratories, project and laboratory management (e.g., implementation of survey and analysis routines), communication with the project partners
• Participation in the teaching of the department, supervision and examination of
students as well as participation in administrative tasks
• Teaching obligations: 4 semester hours per week
• Opportunity for habilitation/scientific qualification is given
Requirements:
• Completed scientific university degree (Master's or Diploma) and very good doctorate in psychology
• Very good knowledge and great interest in the field of biological psychology and/or clinical neuroscience
• Above-average participation in international scientific exchange and experience in the publication of international scientific articles (peer-reviewed)
• Fluency in written and spoken English
Desirable qualifications:
• Experience in the collection and evaluation of psychophysiological data (especially EEG, eye tracking, peripheral physiology) and/or experience in the collection of Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA)
• Very good programming skills (e.g., Matlab, R)
• Experience in experimental work with children and adolescents (with/without mental illnesses) and their families
• An independent way of working, initiative, resilience, willingness to communicate and cooperate
• Clinical experience is an advantage, but not a mandatory requirement
