Research Associate (m/f/d) for smartphone-based digital assessments and high-frequency data (EMA/ESM)
The Faculty of Medicine is an integral part of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and cooperates with the Magdeburg University Hospital A.ö.R. in research, teaching and patient care.
At the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (Head: Prof. Dr. Thomas Nickl-Jockschat) of the Medical Faculty of the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg, a research project on the variability and change of behavior and cognition in the context of a multimodal intervention is being conducted in collaboration with the German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (Clinical Cognitive Neuroscience Group, Head: Dr. David Berron). For the targeted development and application of high-frequency smartphone-based examinations, a part-time position is to be filled at the Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the earliest possible date.
This involves the following tasks and requirements:
Your tasks:
- You will develop and implement scales for Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA) to investigate behavior, cognition and subjective perceptions as well as their variability at high frequency
- You will focus on the evaluation of Ecological Momentary Assessments (EMA) for the temporal progression, in particular to evaluate the effects of a targeted intervention
- You will analyze high-frequency data collected from active and passive data sources
- You will prepare scientific publications and present your result at conferences
What you bring with you:
- University degree in psychology or a comparable field of study
- Strong interest in statistical analysis of high-frequency longitudinal data (intensive longitudinal methods; for example linear mixed-effects models)
- Initial knowledge in the evaluation of intervention studies as well as knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical analysis software (e.g. R)
- Strong interest in innovative methods for data collection and diagnosis, such as smartphone-based and wearable-base survey methods
- Systematic, independent and clearly structured work in a team
- Very good knowledge of German and English

Compensation:
The salary group E13 according to “Tarifvertrag für den Öffentlichen Dienst de Länder" awaits you.
Occupation terms:
The position is to be filled at the earliest possible date on a part-time basis (50%) and limited until 30.09.2026. Subsequent employment may be possible.
