The position is part of the Institute for Cognition and Behavior headed by Prof. Susann Fiedler. The work program for this PhD position is part of the « PräNUDGE» Project. This project is funded by the FFG Austrian Life Sciences Programme 2024 for two years and contribute to an interdisciplinary research project focused on understanding motivational factors, trust-building strategies, and effective communication in the context of digital health platforms. The successful candidate will play a central role in exploring behavioral and psychological factors influencing individuals' willingness to share personal data and their trust in health platforms, as well as in designing and testing targeted communication strategies.
What to expect
- Conduct reviews to analyze relevant literature and synthesize insights
- Plan, execute, and analyze quantitative, representative population surveys
- Collaborate with app providers to integrate know-how and usage data into the research process
- Produce comprehensive reports, including datasets and statistical analyses
- Attendance of international conferences
- Publication of research projects in international journals
What you have to offer
- PhD degree in psychology, cognitive science, economics, business and management (alternatively in a related field)
- Interested in one or multiple of the following fields: decision making, information processing, trust, motivation, health behavior driven by inter-individual differences
- Strong background and interest in empirical social science methodology / statistics
- Strong motivation to contribute to the interdisciplinary agenda of the institute

Fluency in English is required; German language skills are a plus
- Highly motivated, curious, well organized, team player
